I have ordered from Macs before and my discus are healthy and happy. When it came time to expand my aquarium room I knew I would order my new discus from Macs again. Although the FedEx journey was troublesome and delayed, all my new discus faired very well. From ordering to shipping the experience was extremely satisfying. Couple of minutes after i placed my order the communication started and I got regular updates. The fish came with a day delay, fedex missed a connection and I was amazed how they managed the extra day in a box. During acclimation they started already being active. Lively, healthy and beautiful fish. I followed the recommendation to get them setup and with a temperature between 86-88F you can see them grow really fast. Their appetite is enormous.

Overall am pleased. The only knock I have is that the smallest of the six fish received, the Gold Diamond, has not eaten much since he arrived and has also been quite lethargic. I received three discus pairs, the Pigeon Blood, Cobalt, and Blue Turquoise. All showed no stress and their colors were all very good right out of the bags. All acclimated very well took frozen blood worms and even a taste of mysis shrimp late afternoon. I am very pleased with my purchase and growing out a very nice group of Discus. I ordered the beginners group of discus. I have never kept discus before this attempt. The fish arrived in perfect condition. I followed the acclimation instructions. Been keeping and breeding wild green discus since late 80's having started with Putumayo Red Spotted specimens circa 1989. Got my first domesticated fish from Wattley in 93 and in 1998 I got from at Mac's. I lived in Venezuela back then. I don't know much about Discus conformation and fin shape etc. etc. but I do know healthy well taken care of fish when I see them. Highly recommend. After 5 weeks of preparation, tank set up, and water stabilization, I finally purchased my first discus pack for my 125g tank. I was nervous about shipping from Washington to Texas but the process couldn't have gone smoother. My fish arrived promptly, alive, well, and full of color. My fish have been in the tank for just 12 hours now and already have begun exploring and enjoyed a small snack as recommended on the acclimation form. We were surprised, the fish were a bit bigger than we had expected. I just received my BEAUTIFUL 6 pack of Discus.My 2 sons had seen me looking again and again at the beautiful Discus that Mac has to offer. The fish arrived healthy. They were in a blue tinted water, I'm guessing it was some kind of antibiotic. Anyway they are beautiful. It took a few days for them to eat but they are fine. They seem happy and have adapted to life in a planted tank with tetras and guppies. They are no more difficult to care for than any other fish I have owned. My pH is 7.5 temp is 76. nitrates are below 10. I have a 55 gallon tank. I love having them and will buy more when I get a bigger tank. They are docile and are foraging feeders. they pick and pick and pick and seem to like algae as well as other left over food etc. They are very personable and respond to me being tank side. I highly recommend buying from Mac. They were shipped with a heater in the well sealed container. Very happy with my experience. Ignore those other negative reviews from other sites. These guys are really responsive and great to deal with.

Love them to pieces! They eat from my fingers after just a few hours of being here. I got a 12 pack for my 65 gallon tank and the next day they were bright colored and following me around the tank. I can just walk by the tank and there they are. I call them my finned puppies.

I bought 2 six packs and they made it just fine and are doing great even with a major power outage. The fish were the 2.25inch but some looked a little small. I would still recommend these Discus as they are very healthy and great color. The only reason I gave a 4 star is that some looked to be 2.0inch.

This is my first attempt at starting a discus tank. I chose Mac's after reviewing many websites and found the reviews for Mac's very encouraging and positive. The support he gives and his years of experience influenced me to place my order with him. The selections he chose were FANTASTIC. All looked in perfect health and vibrant colors even at this young age. The overnight shipping and packaging were excellent too. We had gotten the recommended blood worms and all of the fish began to scarf them down the minute I added them to the tank. They have continued to eat vigorously ever since as well. We did have a little excitement because I hadn't gotten the substrate in the tank before the fish arrived. So after 2 days of acclimating in their 37 gal tank, I moved them to a 5 gal tank and continued to prepare the larger tank with substrate and decoations. We plan to add live plants over time. After 3 days of clearing the water we finally moved the discus into their new home and all were delighted. We can't tell you how very pleased we are with our purchase and look forward to ordering more.
