Emerald Green Discus Fish 3 inch
Description
The emerald green discus is a truly stunning fish, and it looks beautiful in any aquarium. This beautiful fish is the result of cross breeding several varieties of natural discus, such as the blue and green discus, and cultivated discus. The resulting fish is a magnificent deep green shade with variations of blue and green throughout. Although the vertical stress bars are lighter than they appear in naturally occurring discus, they have five distinctive bars. The center of the emerald green discus often shows a darker green color than the overall coloring of the fish, and the color often deepens the closer it gets to the tail fin.
The body of the emerald green discus has striations on it that are varying shades of green to a dark blue color. The pectoral and dorsal fins also have striations on them, but the pattern is reversed among the two. The dorsal fin has darker colors at the bottom and a lighter color on the tips, but the pectoral fin is often lighter at the bottom and darker at the tips. These colors vary, and not every emerald green discus displays the pattern in exactly the same way.
The juvenile emerald green discus is a pale green with noticeable vertical bars. As the discus matures, the patterns of striation become more visible, and its color deepens to a beautiful shade of green. Full grown, the emerald green discus will be approximately 8” long. It is almost as tall as it is wide, which accounts for its round body shape. The emerald green discus is a beautiful addition to any tropical aquarium.

Mac's are the most colorful discus I've ever seen, period.
Been in the hobby for over 10 years. Mac's discus are by far the most colorful and beautifully patterned (or fully solid) that I have ever seen in person. His communication is outstanding, answers emailed questions almost immediately. I ordered 11 fish, lost 1 right away which Steve replaced and said was very unusual and rare (the bag it was in leaked...maybe FedEx handling?), but the other 10 fish were active and eating like pigs immediately upon entering the tank. 10 days later and their color and activity continues to impress. If you are even just thinking about buying some from Macs, JUST DO IT! YOU WILL BE SO HAPPY YOU DID. TRUST ME!!
