The tropical gold diamond discus is a cultivated discus that has been bred to eliminate the vertical stress bars found in naturally occurring discus. It has also been bred to produce its vibrant coloring. This stunning fish is a dazzling yellow-gold color. It is free of spots and striations on its body, but its head has a few white striations. The pectoral and dorsal fins of the gold diamond discus have white striations, and the tips of the fins are a darker color than the rest of the fish. The tail fin of the gold diamond discus is dark as well.
The gold diamond discus has a pleasantly rounded shape. This is due to its body being almost as tall as it is wide. At its full size, the gold diamond discus will reach approximately 8” in length. Its body is flat, and it has very full pectoral and dorsal fins that extend the full length of its body, contributing to the roundness of the gold diamond discus. Collectors of discus expect vivid colors, and this golden beauty is sure to satisfy even the most discriminating collector. The gold color of the fish will stand out among the vegetation in any aquarium, and the gold diamond discus is also impressive due to its large size. This is one discus that is worthy of any tropical aquarium.

My favorite!
This Gold diamond discus is one of my favorites! This fish looks so beautiful with the blue discus in my tank. They totally compliment each other. A very healthy vibrant fish.

No gold color yet, but WOW, wonderful condition

Very healthy and beautiful juvenile!
Recently, I purchased 6 juvenile discus from Mac's Discus and this was one of my choices. I have had all 6 for one week now and they are all very healthy and active. I ♡ MAC'S DISCUS!
A 2.5 " Gold Diamond was one of 7 Discus Fish I received from Mac's Discus for our Anniversary. The Gold Diamond was actually one of hubby's choices. I don't think I have ever seen this particular shade of Golden Yellow ever before! This fish is truly spectacular! All 7 Discus Fish that I received were very healthy, incredibly marked, intense color, perfect body shape, fins, eyes etc... There are no words to describe the beauty of the Gold Diamond I received from Mac's Discus! All I can say is that it's truly one of the most beautiful and deeply colored fish I have ever seen in my lifetime! color rivals salt water fish
I just purchased 2 of the 5 inch golden diamond discus from macs. I hope to have a pair. I hope they spawn. these are the most beautiful fresh water fish I have ever seen. the pictures do not do them justice. producing more of these beautiful fish will certainly be a pleasure. I also bought 2 of the 5 inch red checkerboards. and they are gorgeous as well. I wish I had started raising discus years ago.
