Discus fish are native to the slow and warm tropical waters of the Amazon River. They eat a variety of freshwater shrimp, worms, insects, and aquatic vegetation. In the wild, discus fish colors are limited to a few varieties which are earth tone in color. This helps to protect them from predators by allowing them to blend into their natural habitat. Through selective cross breeding, tank raised discus fish are now available to the hobbyist in a wide range of vivid colors.

Respectable company
ordered the beginner set of dicus, they arrived alive but on the second day 2 died another 2 died a day later. contacted Mac told him what had happen and sent him pictures. he ask about the water quality I went to petsmart had water tested it was good. Mac looked at the pictures I sent him and he noticed there may be a problem in the tank. so I fixed that . talked with Mac more and ordered another starter set . he sent the starter set of 6 discus and included 4 more to replace the ones that died. very honest decent person thank you. discus look great and are doing well. definitely a great place to do business. will do business again when these 12 discus get a little bigger.

Beautiful Fish
I cannot say enough about how pleased I am with my purchase of the Beginner 6 pack. All the fish arrived happy and healthy and after 10 days are all doing great. The information provided on the Discus fish blog is very helpful in acclimating the new fish to their new tank and for selecting the right tank. I have followed Steve's advice and placed them in a growing tank before moving them to their display tank in a couple of months. Highly recommend the beginner 6 pack for somebody just starting out or for somebody looking to fill a large display tank with discus.
