Discus fish are native to the slow and warm tropical waters of the Amazon River. They eat a variety of freshwater shrimp, worms, insects, and aquatic vegetation. In the wild, discus fish colors are limited to a few varieties which are earth tone in color. This helps to protect them from predators by allowing them to blend into their natural habitat. Through selective cross breeding, tank raised discus fish are now available to the hobbyist in a wide range of vivid colors.

The shipping and first hand customer service was speedy and friendly. The discus arrived on time and alive. Only 1 out of the 6 stayed at the bottom for a day. It recovered and all 6 have good coloring and doing just fine in their new home. Thanks and in the future I will be a repeat customer.

Impressed by the Steve service
From the moment I order, Steve emailed me his concern about NYC weather. Then few days later, he called me to check on the actual weather by my home. When the fish arrived, they are all alive.. packed properly with a heating pad. He really care for his fish and I will buy from him again soon. note: He is very responsive with his email, any concern I had with the fish was replied quickly. I ordered discus online in the past (do not want to defame anyone) but this experience has been far better.

Will order 6 more in the spring
Upon checking out a number of On-Line stores I went with Mac's. Very happy with arrival of 6 great fish. Despite the colder weather we were having they all arrived safely & were doing great and have been a joy to watch in the tank. Will be ordering 6 more in the spring to help fill out the tank. Great mix of colors & healthy discus
