Description
The Red Rio purus discus will add interest and variety to your freshwater tropical aquarium. The Red Rio purus discus is a unique blend of traits that are inherent in wild discus, such as vertical stress bars, and the vivid colors and unusual patterns of markings of cultivated discus. The head of the Red Rio purus discus is a vibrant gold, and its body will also display some gold, although the degree of coloration varies fish by fish. Faint vertical stress bars are spaced across its body, and there is a darker one on its head. The center of its body is covered with closely gathered red striations that form long, somewhat broken lines. Closer to the fins, the striations covering the Red Rio purus discus are more spread out and regularly shaped. Both the pectoral and dorsal fins are also covered with striations, and some markings occur on the tail fin.
The Red Rio purus discus is a large, flat fish that stands out in an aquarium. At its full size, the Red Rio purus discus will reach 8” in length. The body of the Red Rio purus discus has a very rounded shape due to the fish being almost as tall as it is long. The discus has very full, rounded pectoral and dorsal fins, which also make the Red Rio purus discus appear quite round. Collectors of tropical fish prize discus for their large, round bodies, their vibrant colors, and their pleasant personalities. The Red Rio purus
Have had mine about 10 days doing well one eats like a hog one a little picky but its not losing weight , Takes in a blood worm spits it out then tries another till it fines one to its liking. Going to order 5 or 6 more this week and think that will help it out as they tend to do better is larger schools of discus .. But I'm very happy with their looks and health beautiful fish .. Only place I'll ever buy discus from in the future . Also wanted to say it was a really good packing and shipping job. I pack and ship Live Corals and marine fish weekly and I'm very critical of packing and shipping methods and will say Steve and the guys here did a great job.. And main reason I only ordered just the two as I wanted to see how they were packed and shipped ..

New Fish
I ordered a variety pack with 10 discus. All are doing great and eating flake, granules and frozen/freeze-dried foods. The tank is heavily planted and has driftwood for hiding. I have only had them for 2 weeks but I have seen growth. They also adapted excellently from soft, acid water to Midwest hard.
